Total Surface Area — Definition, Formula & Examples
Total surface area is the entire area covering the outside of a three-dimensional shape, including every face, base, and curved surface.
The total surface area (TSA) of a solid is the sum of the areas of all its bounding surfaces — both the lateral (side) surfaces and the base(s). It is measured in square units.

How It Works
To find total surface area, identify every distinct face or curved surface on the solid. Calculate the area of each one, then add them all together.
