Degrees minutes seconds (DMS) is a way of writing angle measurements where each degree is divided into 60 minutes and each minute is divided into 60 seconds. For example, 45°30'15" means 45 degrees, 30 minutes, and 15 seconds.
DMS notation expresses an angle as an integer number of degrees (°), an integer number of arcminutes (′), and a real number of arcseconds (″), where 1° = 60′ and 1′ = 60″. This subdivides one degree into 3,600 equal parts.

How It Works
